"It's been an awesome experience for my son!"
It's been an awesome experience for my son. He is a slow learner, but Sensei and his team have been very patient with him. He looks forward to going to practice, and is eager to get his next belt. We love the family environment, and are so glad we found Harriday's Karate and Fitness. Try it for yourself; you will not be disappointed!!

"If you are looking for a karate school, this is the school for you!"
If you are looking for a karate school where the entire staff knows and cares about your child, then this is the school for you! We came from another martial arts school where the experience was ok--but Harriday's is truly extraordinary. Mr. Harriday and his son Stefan take a lot of time to encourage each student and motivate each one to push to be their best. This is definitely not a school which feels like a factory, passing along the students with a high turnover. Students tend to stay because they know that all three Harriday's care about them and want them to excel. The school is well organized and well run. Each week, students know ahead of time what they will be focusing on: sparring or forms. In addition, students can attend a weapons class 2-3 times a month at no additional charge. This is a school which is run by a family who loves martial arts, loves teaching, and where "going above and beyond" for the students is the norm.

"Mr. Harriday is fantastic with the kids!"
Mr. Harriday is fantastic with the kids. My 4 year old son has always had issues understanding and processing verbal instructions but Mr. Harraday is patient and consistently positive with him. He's learning skills beyond martial arts in a safe, happy, and supportive environment

“Its More Than Kicks And Punches“
Your karate program has made a great difference in Alex’s life. I think that the discipline, self confidence and work ethic that is consistently reinforced in your class is definitely paying off in all areas of his life. It is wonderful for both him and his friends to have a strong role model who challenges them to new heights and expects them to perform. To often, I think these kids have mediocre standards set for them and they are rarely given the opportunity to rise to the occasion and experience their potential. I must admit I was skeptical at first with karate-wasn’t it violent? - but, I have been nothing but pleased with the program. Alex has been in your last seven sessions. Today when I asked him how long he was going to take Karate lessons he said “until I die”. Thanks so much for contributing so much of yourself and so strongly and positively supporting the values we try to instill in our children.

“A Positve Program Builds Strong Kids“
When our daughter Lindsey began Karate Kids with you, I really thought that it would be all physical with punching and kicking. My goodness was I wrong. Although in Karate you do apply physical activity, it’s so much more than that. Her attitude about school, self-confidence, focus and respect has always been good, but I can see a significant change in her at home and school since coking to your Karate Kids class. Lindsey really focused in on school since starting class and received her report card. For the very first time Lindsey got all A’s and B’s. As her parents, we’ve both told her how proud we were of her, but I could see how proud she was of herself. Now for your surprise, her comment to me was “I really worked very hard to get these grades, especially in Social Studies”. I am going to show my report card to Mr. Harriday and he will give me a red, white and blue star for getting all A’s and B’s. Please know that your teachings of a positive attitude, self-confidence, respect and self discipline have truly had an effect of Lindsey.

“Its A Way Of Life“
My daughter Tess Moscato started with Harriday’s Karate - Catonsville location almost 3 years ago. Tess has muscular dystrophy, a disease affecting the muscles and nerves. But this did not stop her from joining karate, something she was determined to do. From the first day, Sensei Harriday saw all of Tess’ potential, hard work and determination, rather than her disability. She has always been treated with respect and expected to work like everyone else in the class. When she walks in the dojo, she is a member of the Harriday karate family. The other students treat Tess like an orange belt, a student, and someone who is working to master the skills of karate to become a black belt. Tess is tired when she comes home, but she feels good about her accomplishments and knowing that she always does her best. Karate has become a part of who she is, more than just something that she does. Tess has learned the values of discipline and hard work that she applies at home, at school, and in facing adversity in life. These are lifelong skill that she will always carry with her.

“A Future Black Belt“
When Bryant joined Harriday’s Karate last August, he was shy, lacked confidence in himself, and was only interested in playing his computer games and play station. His grades in school were good, but he required assistance to help him focus on completing home and class work. Today, Bryant is more active and outspoken. His teacher praises him on how he has improved with focusing on his schoolwork. He completes his homework independently, and he spends less time on the electronics and more time outdoors riding his bike and other activities. Most important, Bryant looks forward to karate lessons and Mr. Harriday’s instructions. His interest in the sport has helped build his confidence and sparked an interest in trying other sports. He is proud of his achievement (especially now that he is a yellow belt) and practices everyday without reminders. He hopes to continue his lessons and become a black belt in the future.

“Summer Time Fun“
Tuesday, May 31, 2005 was Marcus Tuah’s last day of Karate class. He will attend several weeks of The Kids Place summer program and then he will transition to his new elementary school. He has attended your Karate class since August 2004 and in that time frame he has learned so much from you and enjoyed his fellow team mates. I certainly appreciated all that you have done and wish you much success in your future endeavors.

“Participation and Motivation“
We decided to enroll our son, Joshua Jenkins, in martial arts to help his focus and self control in school. Josh has some developmental delays and were told martial arts could benefit him. He has attended Harriday's Karate and Fitness for 2 years. In that time, he has made significant progress. One of things I was most proud of was him learning to jump rope. It took him awhile to catch on, but was very proud of himself when he could do it. Sensei Harriday does a fantastic job encouraging the children in the activities. When Josh did not want to participate, he would sometimes make Josh his helper or "assistant" for the class. It really helped to motivate him. I would highly recommend Sensei Harriday to anyone who was interested in learning Karate.

“On The Right Track“
We came to Harriday’s Karate after attending a birthday party there. Mr. Harriday is a wonderful instructor. He has a great relationship with the children in his class. He teaches them how to respect others and themselves. He teaches them about discipline and how important it is to use self control. Mr. Harriday has helped my children mature and learn how to defend themselves using respect as their weapon. We also love Patricia Harriday. She is thoughtful and kind hearted. It has been a very rich and rewarding experience to be part of the Harriday Karate family. We highly recommend Harriday Karate and Fitness to anyone who wants to help their children learn discipline and self respect

“Strong And In Control“
My daughter, London, was known as the class bully at the young age of 4. Even though London displayed a very tender affectionate side that all loved, there was an angry and very aggressive side of her that I have trouble understanding. At least 2 or 3 times a month, notes about London fighting were sent home from school. Against everyone’s advice, I enrolled London in Harriday’s Karate that same year. Both family and friends asked why I would put a child who loved to fight into a sport that taught her how to fight. My answer was simple; discipline. Not the type of discipline that every parent thinks they have under control at home, but the type of discipline that teaches a child how to channel their anger and energy. London has been with Harriday’s Karate for two years now and it has been at least a year and a half since I have had any problems at school with her. London is still and will always be an assertive little girl, but she now knows how to practice self-control and respect for others. I thank Harriday’s Karate for all they have done for me and my daughter….and the school thanks you too

“Toughness and Kindness“
One of the best experiences my son has ever had with sports. The Harriday's really know and love kids, and it shows. Mr.Harriday has the right combination of toughness and kindness you rarely find, and the kids all love and respect him. Added bonus: kids nights with movies & food let us parents get a friday night date in every so often. My son enjoys his lessons and is learning focus and self control, and many other thins as well.
